Responsibilities

OBMI has a newly created opportunity for a Corporate Legal Counsel to support its growth and expansion. The Corporate Legal Counsel serves in the capacity of legal expert for matters pertaining to developing project contracts, contractual disputes, and formal claims and litigation. Coordinate efforts with other internal teams to propose appropriate risk management, identify critical project risk issues and make recommendations and provide summation of documents for execution.  This is a corporate position, handling cases for the entire organization. You will also develop strategies for protecting the companies interests. The successful candidate will also manage and direct external legal counsel.  This is an excellent opportunity to be a sole contributor in an established and successful corporation. This position will report to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, fully accredited by the American Bar Association
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing with the bar of at least one state, willing and able to become licensed in other states as needed.
  • JD degree and 7+ years of broad and diversified experience in corporate law and/or a major law firm.
  • Association of Corporate Counsel
  • International contract law especially familiarity with AIA, RIBA, FIDIC contracts.
  • Involved in the coordination of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Corporate Secretarial
  • Business Advisory role  
  • Experience in architecture, construction, or engineering services industry required.
  • Experience with international contracts desired.
