Overview

The Senior Corporate Accountant performs a range of accounting functions generally with responsibility for a defined segment of the business. Review and verify accuracy of journal entries and account classifications. Analyze and reconcile accounts, verify accuracy, identify trends or problem areas, report results and recommend and implement authorized solutions. Prepare trial balances, F/S, other reports and/or budgets. May assign and check the work of a limited number of employees performing in routine accounting duties. Work is performed under general discretion and within the limits of established policies.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions Include: Responsible for BERMUDA, CAYMAN, and BVI offices

  • Month-end closings including all necessary journal entries
  • ADP monthly payroll processing for all offices including ANT and TNT offices.
  • Reconciliation and GL posting in Deltek.
  • Filing of required payroll tax and mandatory benefit schedules
  • Processing of employee accrual benefits and expense report payments
  • Billing reports analysis and revision
  • Revenue recognition
  • Monthly revenue update actual vs forecast. Report on significant variances
  • Intercompany billing AR & AP reconciliation
  • Ledger & sub-ledger reconciliation
  • Preparation and maintenance of fixed assets schedules, prepaid, accruals, and capital leases
  • Actual vs. budget variance analysis on account basis
  • Preparation of cash report on a weekly basis
  • Supervise A/P clerk on Accounts Payables processing and provide support when needed
  • Employees Expense Reports – reconcile and coordinate payment with AP clerk
  • Coordinate and Approve payments to be made with A/P clerk based on cash position
  • Follow up on A/R collection issues
  • Annual operating and revenue budget preparation in coordination with Corporate Controller and Managing Director for each office
  • Assist PM with project analysis and reporting upon ad hoc requests

 

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting required
  • 5-8 yrs. experience in the accounting field a plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires middle to high level of financial accounting knowledge
  • Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
  • Proficient in excel a plus
  • Deltek Vision and ADP a plus but not required
