The Marketing Director directs and oversees the company’s marketing initiatives, including firm-wide marketing plans, industry research, public relations and management of marketing staff. The primary focus of this position is to create, develop and evaluate the strategic direction for positioning of OBMI in the hotel/resort industry and each office. OBMI is looking for an organized & creative Marketing Director. Candidate must have a proven track record marketing in the architectural/engineering field for 8 years minimum and a college degree. 

 

The Marketing Director is critical to winning work for our highly productive offices. This is a diverse hands-on position that requires self-discipline, initiative and thought leadership. The position balances daily systems and organizational tasks with complex deadline-driven projects all with this goal in mind: Produce a high-quality creative end-product that out shines our competition and enables us to win work.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage firm-wide marketing activities and facilitate communications and flow of marketing information
  • Participate in strategic planning with principals, associates, and others. Participate in developing the annual marketing budget; monitor both plan and budget and provide periodic and annual reports to principals.
  • Manage CRM process and weekly calls.
  • Coordination of business development efforts, and follow up on leads.
  • Oversee written quality and content of external communications, including proposals.
  • Direct updating of marketing information systems and materials (brochures, website, digital libraries, archives, etc.)
  • Advise principals and associates, dealing with individual’s special requirements to ensure that relationships with key clients are well maintained.
  • In coordination with each OBMI office and OBMI’s Centres of Excellence's preparation of a specific marketing strategy and program.
  • Actively support existing and new market sectors, prepare recommendations regarding new opportunities.
  • Identify, pursue and develop relationships with prospective clients.
  • Serves as contact for all marketing matters with each of the offices’ Managing Directors.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in the marketplace and the profession nationally and internationally
  • Assure maintenance of contacts with local, national and international press; place news releases and articles for publication; lead the coordination of outside public relations consultants.
  • Promote opportunities for principal, associate, and staff participation in community activities, public speaking, and professional conferences.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work comfortable with people at all levels in the firm
  • Excellent communications skills, including writing and editing; capable of organizing information and materials for clear and concise presentation for in-house needs and for clients.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
  • Relevant 4 year degree (i.e., Architecture, English, Journalism, Marketing, Liberal Arts) Master’s Degree a plus.
  • 8 or more years of experience in a marketing management role in the A/E industry, preferably Architecture is a must.
  • Advanced computer skills; knowledge of all Adobe products. Deltek Vision CRM experience a plus.
